EU Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 27 April 2016 was published in 2016 with an adaptation period of 2 years, being applicable from 25 May 2018 in all EU member countries. EU and has been a constant challenge for all stakeholders in its application to the day-to-day of organizations and their operations.

What defends
All the fundamental rights of freedom and principles recognized in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, namely respect for private and family life, home and communications, protection of personal data, freedom of thought, conscience and religion, freedom of expression and information and cultural, religious and linguistic diversity.

Applicability
It applies to all private and public organizations located in the 28 member states of the European Union or subcontracted organizations located in the EU, which process personal data of Individuals residing in the territory of the European Union, regardless of their nationality or your place of residence.

Obligations
A set of new rules were introduced, including the obligation to designate a data protection officer, rules on pseudonymisation of data, changes to the rules on obtaining consent, new rules on consent of minors, the elimination of system of notifications and authorizations, the implementation of the right to be forgotten, the creation of increased obligations for subcontractors, the introduction of very high fines and obligations to inform about breaches of security.
